Abdoul Bour is from Chad, where he studied cultural anthropology in the capital N’Djamena. The civil war forced him to flee his homeland. As a refugee, he turned to fashion design, founding studios in Central Africa and Togo. He now specialises in African fashion. In the Netherlands, where he has been living for many years, he is seeking to develop his skills as a couturier. His current clientele is mostly Congolese, but he has also created costumes for the Yamo Yamo dance company. In 2009, he arranged a fashion show together with residents on the street close by the house where he now lives, on the Spinozaplantsoen in Utrecht.
