Listening Lab is a New York–based initiative dedicated to strengthening social cohesion through the simple yet powerful act of listening. The organisation designs programmes that engage communities in the practice of listening as a way to foster empathy, understanding, and connection across social and cultural boundaries.
Its work spans education, community action, and research — teaching listening as a tool for community development, supporting projects that serve the common good, and translating insights into exhibitions and public experiences. One of its key initiatives, the Sunday Social, brings people together each month to share coffee and take part in collective listening sessions in public spaces.
Through collaborations with institutions, non-profits, educators, and cultural organisations, Listening Lab promotes a culture of attentive presence and dialogue, encouraging individuals and communities to slow down, connect, and listen to one another and, in doing so, to build a more cohesive and compassionate world.
