Sarah Kaushik is an artist and scenographer based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. She holds a Master’s degree in Scenography from HKU (2020–2022) and has worked as an artist and designer since 2010. Originally from India, she began her career as an exhibition designer, collaborating with curators, craftspeople, and artists engaged in traditional craft practices. Her experience includes research-based projects with NGOs, focusing on rural, nomadic, and indigenous cultures, and translating this research into visual and experiential forms.
In her current practice, Kaushik explores the relationship between the spectator and the landscape through memory, association, imagination, and curiosity. Her ongoing research examines themes of rootedness, home, migration, and belonging within nomadic contexts. Using scenographic methods, she creates interactive, sensory experiences, including audiovisual walking projects, that invite participants to engage with space and story in new and imaginative ways.
