Godchance Eben Siger is a Tanzanian choreographer, dancer, and yoga instructor from Dar es Salaam, known for blending contemporary and traditional Tanzanian dance forms to explore social themes. As assistant director at Sisi Dance Theatre, he uses movement, ritual, and performance to reflect on issues within his community and create spaces for dialogue and change.
Through his Tanzanian community initiative, Siger is dedicated to empowering young girls through education, dance, and community engagement. The programme tackles challenges that young woman in Tanzania face, encouraging girls to become independent, ambitious, and self-reliant. By combining dance performances with open discussions, the initiative promotes self-respect, gender equality, and the importance of education, helping girls understand their rights and realize their full potential, while breaking cycles of poverty and inspiring social transformation through art.
