Louise Lowe

Europe, Ireland, Dublin
Art discipline: Site-specific Performance
Participated in ICAF in: 2014

Louise Lowe is one of Ireland’s most exciting theatre artists. She specializes in intimate, site-specifc shows that have a deep involvement in the communities where they are set. Her contexts range rom abandoned Ballymun towerblocks in the 2005 Tumbledowntown, to her own childhood home in 2009’s Basin. Her production Laundry (2011), about the abuse of teenage mothers by Catholic nuns, had a huge national impact. At ICAF-6 she will be working in a residency with RWT in Rotterdam.
