Abdoul Bour is from Chad, where he studied cultural anthropology in the capital N'Djamena. The civil war there forced him to flee his homeland. As a refugee, he turned to fashion design, founding studios in Central Africa and Togo. He specialises in African fashion. In the Netherlands, where he has been living now for three years, he is seeking to develop himself further as a couturier. His current clientele is mostly Congolese, but he has also created costumes for the Yamo Yamo dance company. In 2009, he put on a fashion show together with local residents - on the street close by the house where he now lives, on the Spinozaplantsoen in Utrecht.
