Eva Koopmans (1993) is a relational artist and designer. With a background in scenography, she focuses on spatial interventions that bring people and places into contact with one another. Facilitating encounters forms the common thread throughout her work — whether in theatres, at festivals, or within organisations. Eva uses art as a means to participate in processes of change, as well as to collectively experiment and practise transformation on a smaller scale.
The site of creation always plays a central role in Eva’s work. Through spatial artistic interventions, she reveals the hidden relationships and dynamics of a location, lowering the threshold for participation and inviting people to engage with their surroundings in new ways. Her practice seeks to bridge divides, challenge feelings of powerlessness, and foster collective care for each other and the planet, showing that what we give attention to, grows.
