Brots is a theatre collective based at uTOpia Barcelona, formed by mental-health activists and people with lived experience of mental illness. The group uses the principles of Theatre of the Oppressed to create performances that question stigma, discrimination, and the dominant narratives around psychiatry and mental health.
Through collaborative creation and aesthetic exploration, CIA Brots turns personal experiences into powerful collective expressions. Their work gives voice to individuals who are often silenced, fostering empathy, dialogue, and social awareness. By blending art and activism, the collective transforms the stage into a space for healing, empowerment, and change — advocating for a more humane and inclusive understanding of mental health in contemporary society.
