Formaat is a professional theatre of the oppressed company based in Rotterdam. For many years, the company has been working with vulnerable people and addressing burning social issues. Formaat has also been a driving force behind an important international network of TO practitioners. A few years ago, Formaat connected with Evan Hastings, who introduced Formaat to the shadow theatre, an aesthetic innovation that provides TO’s image theatre with an entirely new performance language.
