Aaryan is an independent filmmaker and storyteller rooted in rural India. His debut feature film, Aājoor (2024), is the first-ever feature film in the Bajjika language, spoken by over 20 million people. A groundbreaking community-driven project, Aājoor premiered at the Kolkata International Film Festival on December 5, 2024, and later at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). The film earned him the Best Director award and was recognised at esteemed festivals for its innovative storytelling.
Aājoor explores themes of gender, resilience, and tradition. Made entirely with the support of the rural community, the film brought together local youth and non-actors, transforming filmmaking into a powerful tool for social change and community engagement.
Beyond Film, He co-founded the Shrirampur Samvad Foundation, dedicated to nature-based education, cultural preservation, and sustainable development in rural Bihar. Through this initiative, he, along with his team empowers underprivileged communities—especially girls—by providing a creative and eco-friendly space for learning, mentorship, and innovation. His work bridges tradition and modern storytelling, using film and education as mediums to amplify unheard voices and inspire future generations.
