In Rotterdam we are currently celebrating our yearly national Festival ICAF NWE MKRS. A festival produced especially for young talents and artist-facilitators within the community arts sector here in the Netherlands. As part of the festival programme Professor Sruti Bala, from the University of Amsterdam will be facilitating an in-depth conversation with Jasmina alongside lecturers from Dutch Art Academies, policy makers from within the Dutch cultural field and one of the young theatre directors that will be presenting their work at the festival. The conversation centres the pitfalls in our current “participation society” and will question what the role of the artist is when it comes to participatory art processes today. Please note that the programme will take place in Dutch only.More information about the event and the whole NWE MKRS programme can be found here.
Each year, ICAF NEW MKRS offers a fantastic opportunity to recognise the new, homegrown talent we have in the Netherlands. Working with young talent continues to be of upmost importance to ICAF, and with the ICAF Worldwide Hubs we are currently developing, including our established Hub in Singapore, we wish to connect young talents from the Netherlands to those elsewhere in the world and continue to nurture the exchange of methodologies, knowledge and experience.
