For ICAF 2014 Hacking Public Space, the Rotterdam-based landscape designer Ester Slegh, (the driving force behind an artistically designed urban garden in Crooswijk, and the temporary museum of random art) investigated together with ICAF delegates the practical and legal limits for ludic interventions in public spaces across Rotterdam.

Esther Slegh has been working for the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee since 2017 and is responsible for the heat assignment on the island. These include the Heat Transition Vision, the Climate-Powerful GO participation program and the City of Natural Gas Free. Municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee is an island municipality in South Holland, south of Rotterdam, and has had a decidedly ambitious agenda in the field of sustainability since 2013.
