Welcome to the ICAF 2023 registration guide. Registration for each festival day is mandatory in advance of ICAF 2023. Here you can find a simple overview of how to register for workshops, performances, film screenings and lectures across the festival weekend.

To Register for the Festival, you must create an ICAF user account. You can only register for one account per person.
Festival Registration is separated into morning, afternoon and evening programming for each day, and depending on your programme choice, you may need to select a first and second choice in the case of full capacity.

For our Morning Programme there are two programme options: a slow start, and a lecture. The slow starts start at 10.30AM and are a more activity-based option, where you can get stuck into a hands-on workshop, or explore the neighbourhood and local area through guided interventions. Slow starts work on a first come, first serve basis, therefore registration is not necessary. You are however required to arrive promptly at 10.00AM at the selected location, as once the workshop or activity has begun, we may not be able to permit entry. You do need to register for our Lecture Programme. It begins at 10.00AM and includes talks and discussions with invited academics and experts working in the field of community arts on cutting edge topics. Two parallel lecture programmes are on offer for each full festival day, so you must indicate a first choice and a second choice.

For our Afternoon Programme which commences at 13.00PM, directly after lunch, there are two programme options per full festival day. The first is a long workshop of 3.5 hours, the second is one of several “compilation programmes” per day. Compilation programmes are a curated selection of two performances, short workshops and/or showcases per afternoon. The Compilation Programme timetable is fixed, which means once you have chosen a compilation, you cannot mix and match with others throughout the day. This is because transport is organised and meals are served in accordance with each compilation programme. Many of our programme items are repeated, so if you miss something on one day that you wish to attend, there is always a chance to see something on another day. Regardless of it you are choosing a long workshop or one of the several compilation programmes on offer, all afternoon programme choices must be registered in advance and a first and a second choice is required.

Our Early Evening Programme consists of performances and film screenings during the 7-8.30PM time-slot, some of which include after talks. For each early evening programme you have two programme items to choose from. You must register for each evening in advance with a first and second choice.

All festival participants are invited to our main stage performance each evening, which starts at 8.30PM and to the after party that follows. Registration for these events is not required.
