Recovery Street offers art-based therapy across New Zealand (Aotearoa) for people facing mental health challenges, addiction, homelessness, or involvement with the justice system.
The project He Tangata! — inspired by the Māori proverb “He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata! He tangata! He tangata!” (“What is the most important thing in the world? It is the people!”) — celebrates the value of every individual. Using visual arts, theatre, music, spoken word, film, graffiti, and traditional Māori arts like kapa haka, the project combines Western and Māori healing practices with trauma-informed therapies.
At ICAF 2026, founder and artistic director Chris Molloy will lead a workshop for arts and healthcare professionals, showcasing their methodology where art and therapy strengthen each other equally.
