EMOTIVE DANCE PERFORMANCE “ONYESHA THAMANI”
Nantea Dance Company will bring to the ICAF stage their performance of ONYESHA THAMANI, translated as SHOWING VALUE. A beautifully affective dance performance about gender equality that promotes the idea of men and women living together as equals. Through its choreography ONYESHA THAMANI uses dance as a voice and as a language to offer new perspectives towards gender equality in Tanzania, whilst providing a message of hope to break the cycle of indifference and absence, and to encourage connection through love, kindness, patience and empathy.
Nantea Dance Company is a Tanzanian based, non-profit contemporary dance company that provides multifaceted performances and community-based projects to promote and develop the contemporary dance scene in Tanzania, inspiring youths to became ambassadors of development and social change. Nantea seeks to integrate a Contemporary, urban Africa with Traditional knowledge and wisdoms.
