This year ICAF has been invited to oversee the role of Thinking Partner for the upcoming Buffer Fringe Performing Arts Festival, happening this October.
Since 2014, Buffer Fringe Performing Arts Festival, organized by the Home for Cooperation, has been questioning sensitive topics, challenging and playing with dominant narratives, and giving space to artists and activists from the south and north of Cyprus to express new ideas in innovative ways. In turn, enabling audiences from diverse communities to engage in dialogue, and initiate discussions to promote understanding.
As Thinking Partners, the ICAF team has been regularly meeting with the Buffer Fringe team, as well as their curators to engage in critical conversations around this years’ festival, which will be taking place over 7-8-9 October in Nicosia, Cyprus, exploring the theme of Pockets (Beyond).
Intrigued to hear more about this theme and our collaboration? ICAF’s Amy Gowen joined Buffer Fringe’s Creative Team member Nihal Soğancı as guests on the Island Talks Sesta Buffer Fringe Special series podcast, which can be listened to here.
