Upstate Theatre Project is een gemeenschapsgerichte podiumkunstenorganisatie die zich houdt aan collectieve en collaboratieve benaderingen in overeenstemming met de principes van culturele democratie. Upstate werd opgericht in 1997 en heeft sinds de oprichting een collaboratieve, participatieve praktijk nagestreefd. Het workshopprogramma van Upstate is ontworpen als een plek waar mensen collectief kunnen samenwerken in samenwerking met kunstenaars om performances te realiseren op basis van thema’s, idee\u00ebn en kwesties van wederzijds belang. Upstate verwelkomt altijd idee\u00ebn van de gemeenschap.<\/p>\n\n
In de weken voorafgaand aan ICAF 2014 werken kunstenaars van zowel Upstate Theatre aan een residentie met RWT om een project te cre\u00ebren in de zuidkant van Rotterdam.
