In April, as part of the series of ICAF specials, discussions were held with Ed Carroll and Vita Gel\u016bnien\u0117 regarding The Cabbage Field, a community opera developed by Zemuju Sanciu Bendruomene in Kaunas, Lithuania. During their attendance at ICAF, it became apparent that Ed possessed a comprehensive understanding of the internal mechanisms of the Faro Convention. Consequently, he was invited to elucidate its principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the subsequent episode, Ed delved into the Convention, which is grounded in the notion that knowledge and utilization of heritage constitute a fundamental aspect of individuals’ right to engage in cultural life, as outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Article 1 emphasizes that rights pertaining to cultural heritage are intrinsic to cultural participation.
