Save the Date: one year until ICAF 2017

The theme of ICAF 2017 will be MOVEMENT!  We are well on our way to make sure that the 2017 edition of the festival will become the most moving one yet. At the moment, we are specifically scouting in Brazil for inspiring examples of how modern dance is literally used to make a difference in the life of underprivileged young people. We’ve already heard that some of you are working on your ideas and we urge you to continue sending us your thoughts. In our thinking, ‘movement’ could mean many things, including dance in, with and for communities. But it could as well refer to movement in terms of gesture and communication beyond the purely verbal. You could also think of the link between community art and activism, or community art itself as an international movement of which ICAF is an integral part. Recently we have added some new pages to our website for everyone looking for more information to educate themselves on community arts. Let us know if you are familiar with exciting projects that might fit our theme and please do not hesitate to get in touch with Jasmina Ibrahimovic at jasmina@icafrotterdam.com. Who knows, your tip might move all the way to Rotterdam in time for the seventh edition of ICAF. We can't wait to see you from 27. March to 2. April 2017!
