<\/strong>Using Community Mapping as a methodology in their practice over the past 10 years, this workshop invites participants to pause and look closely at how space is shaped through everyday life, shared histories, and collective imagination as a way of listening, noticing, and sense making together. Through prompts, discussions, and a hands-on Community Mapping exercise, the workshop proposes Community Mapping as an ethical and creative starting point that focuses on collaboration, and imagination as foundations for sustained community-based art practice. With concrete examples practiced in Singapore, the workshop looks at process over product, emphasizing connection and curiosity constantly asking how artists might create with communities rather than for them, and how collective wisdom can open new possibilities for belonging, agency, and commons-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drama Box<\/strong> is een non-profit theatergezelschap uit Singapore. Drama Box, opgericht in 1990, is bekend geworden door het cre\u00ebren en produceren van sociaal ge\u00ebngageerde werken die mogelijkheden bieden voor dialoog en het publiek aanzetten om anders na te denken over de gepresenteerde kwesties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singapore, waar ze zijn gevestigd, is een dichtbevolkte, landarme stadstaat die bekend staat om zijn snel groeiende stedelijke ontwikkeling. In de constante cyclus van het afbreken en herbouwen van ruimtes hebben sociale banden, rustplaatsen voor de doden en zelfs de natuur vaak plaats moeten maken in naam van de vooruitgang. Terugkerende vragen in het werk van Drama Box zijn: Wat zijn de krachten die onze ruimte vormen? Is er ruimte voor een gedeelde heterotopie? <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geleid door de overtuiging dat het betrekken van de gemeenschap bij belangrijke kwesties cruciaal is voor het cre\u00ebren van een levendige en progressieve samenleving, en dat elk lid van de samenleving de middelen moet hebben om deel te nemen, heeft Drama Box ervoor gekozen om de meeste van zijn gemeenschapsvoorstellingen gratis toegangsprijzen te houden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
