This workshop\u202faccompanies the screening of A\u0101joor, the first feature film in the Bajjika language, and offers an in-depth look at its making. Participants will explore how the stories were developed, the writing process, and the collaborative work with the local community, including the involvement of over 100 children, as well as the personal and social impact of the project and how the aesthetics were shaped through co-creation.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The session will also focus on low-budget filmmaking, working within rural communities, and initiatives developed through our organisation, encouraging dialogue and reflection with the audience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zijn debuutfilm, A\u0101joor (2024), is de allereerste speelfilm in de Bajjika-taal, die door meer dan 20 miljoen mensen wordt gesproken. A\u0101joor is een baanbrekend, door de gemeenschap gedreven project dat op 5 december 2024 in premi\u00e8re ging op het Kolkata International Film Festival en later ook op het International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). De film leverde hem de prijs voor Beste Regisseur op en werd op gerenommeerde festivals geprezen om zijn innovatieve vertelstijl. <\/p>\n\n A\u0101joor verkent thema's als gender, veerkracht en traditie. De film, die volledig met de steun van de plattelandsgemeenschap is gemaakt, bracht lokale jongeren en niet-professionele acteurs samen en transformeerde film maken tot een krachtig instrument voor sociale verandering en maatschappelijke betrokkenheid. <\/p>\n\n Naast zijn filmwerk is hij medeoprichter van de Shrirampur Samvad Foundation, die zich inzet voor natuuronderwijs, cultureel behoud en duurzame ontwikkeling in het platteland van Bihar. Via dit initiatief geeft hij, samen met zijn team, kansarme gemeenschappen \u2013 met name meisjes \u2013 meer mogelijkheden door een creatieve en milieuvriendelijke ruimte te bieden voor leren, mentorschap en innovatie.
