Town Anywhere is a large scale community visioning process that brings together large groups of people to imagine and then spend the day creating\u202fa fictional city of the future shaped by your ideas, questions, and dreams.\u202fParticipants translate visions for neighbourhoods, systems of care, education, governance, and open spaces into an interactive installation where imagination and dialogue come together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a time of major and sometimes paralysing societal challenges, Town Anywhere invites action through collaboration. By building, talking, and designing together, participants will co-create models of a possible future that faces into ongoing climate and ecological challenges with care and through multi species kinship and collaboration, coming away with inspiration for change in Rotterdam\u2019s neighborhoods and communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Town Anywhere is an exercise in collective imagination, Thrutopia, and reclaiming agency over the city we want to live in and our role within it.\u202fYou are invited to Join in. Build together. Create together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before focusing her creative practice as a socially and ecologically engaged artist she worked as a theatre maker devising, creating and touring work in collaboration with scientists and writers. From 2003 \u2013 2020 she was the\u00a0 co- founder and\u00a0 Exec Director of\u00a0Encounters Arts\u00a0<\/a>midwifing over 90 intimate creative and participatory interventions and processes across the UK that invited thousands of people from\u00a0different backgrounds to explore and express their experiences of the past, responses to the present and\u00a0 hopes and fears about the future.\u00a0 Work included being part of the team representing the UK at the Venice Biennale of Architecture,\u00a0 projects for Liverpool Capital of Culture and the RSA Art and Social change programme in Peterborough. Ruth held local and national roles\u00a0 in the early stages of Extinction Rebellion and she was one of the co-founders of the Culture Declares Emergency network.
