For young adults during and after cancer, movement is more than physical exercise: it is emotional processing, social connection, and a way to reclaim autonomy and self-confidence. R.A.A.F. danst<\/strong> (Roots, Authenticity, Agape, Freedom) introduces an innovative vision of care in which dance becomes an integral part of recovery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At ICAF 2026, R.A.A.F. danst presents its approach through a workshop for healthcare professionals, dance teachers and therapists, focusing on methodologies for dance-based interventions in care contexts. Alongside this, the documentary Bewogen Bewegen (Moved by Movement)<\/em> will be screened, commissioned by the F|Fort Foundation. The film follows 17 young women who, guided by former Scapino Ballet dancers, use dance to tell their stories, rediscover their strength and create a final performance. Together, the workshop and film show how dance as community art can contribute to personal growth, recovery and positive social impact. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mission of R.A.A.F. (Roots, Authenticity, Agape, Freedom) is to foster connection, healing, and self-expression through dance, while strengthening the role of art and movement within healthcare and well-being. This vision grew out of the project \u201cDance! with F|Fort\u201d, developed with young adults living with and beyond cancer (AYA\u2019s \u2013 Adolescents & Young Adults). The project demonstrated how dance can significantly improve physical, mental, and social well-being, attracting strong interest from both healthcare and arts institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building on this foundation, R.A.A.F. offers a range of workshops, masterclasses, courses, and training programmes for people with life-changing experiences, healthcare professionals, and dance practitioners who wish to contribute to well-being within care contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of R.A.A.F.\u2019s projects are rooted in the principles of community arts \u2014 participatory, inclusive, and focused on strengthening communities. The foundation believes in the transformative power of co-creation, where participants are not just observers but active collaborators.
