Na een lange creatieve uitwisseling die de afgelopen jaren online plaatsvond werkten Hobson Street Theater uit Nieuw-Zeeland en de Pauluskerk uit Rotterdam vanaf 23 maart voor het eerst in levende lijve met elkaar samen. Gedurende zes dagen cre\u00eberden ze in workshops een podiumpresentatie. De workshops stonden in het teken van de thema\u2019s \u2018ontmoeting\u2019 en \u2018sound of change\u2019. Elke workshop belichtte een andere kunstdiscipline: toneel, beeldende kunst, literatuur. Vertrekkend vanuit hun persoonlijke verhalen en perspectieven werkten de deelnemers toe naar een presentatie die nu te zien is op ICAF \u201823.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Op donderdagmiddag 30 maart is het dan zo ver en mag een breder publiek getuige zijn van deze bijzondere ontmoeting. Voordat we kunnen genieten van de optredens die uit de samenwerking zijn voortgekomen, zullen de Pauluskerk en Hobson Street Theater eerst een introductie verzorgen over hun respectievelijke werkwijze en context. Ook bieden ze ons via beeldmateriaal (video en foto\u2019s) een kijkje in deze unieke uitwisseling. Hobson Street Theatre Company is het eerste en enige theatergezelschap met en voor daklozen in Nieuw-Zeeland. The Diaconal Center Pauluskerk supports all people in Rotterdam and surroundings that cannot survive without help: Homeless people, addicts, psychiatric patients, people without residence permit, people without employment, young adults that have no guidance for the way of life and vulnerable elderly people. The base of the Pauluskerk is the importance and the \u2018perspective of better\u2019 of these people. And so everybody is more than welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because of the bad economy, a lot of reductions at the social care and the healthcare and all the time stronger policies for foreigners and asylum it became more difficult to survive in this society. Without help it\u2019s barely possible to change this. Exactly those people we want to help. And through our activities we would like to offer them a new perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pauluskerk have an entire cultural programme dedicated to those who use their services.
