Corpo M\u00e1quina is in 2017 opgericht door choreograaf Guilherme Miotto. Miotto heeft in Brazili\u00eb een ruige jeugd gehad en past nu zijn ervaringen toe in de noordelijke wijken van Tilburg. Daar cre\u00ebert Corpo M\u00e1quina fascinerende dansprojecten met lokale jongeren, waarin sociale en artistieke ambities hand in hand gaan. Hun werk is gebaseerd op het idee dat in ieder menselijk lichaam herinneringen en levenservaringen zijn opgeslagen. Dit bepaalt van diep in ons wezen hoe we bewegen. Dit is van toepassing op zowel getrainde professionele dansers als ongeoefende bewegers. Corpo M\u00e1quina is ervan overtuigd dat er een danser in ieder van ons schuilt en dat deze danser in staat is om allerlei (taalkundige, sociale, culturele, generationele) barri\u00e8res tussen mensen omver te werpen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gedreven door de overtuiging dat het theater publieke ruimte is en de kunstenaar dienstbaar aan de publieke zaak, werkt Corpo M\u00e1quina sinds 2017 onder artistiek leiding van oprichter en de van oorsprong Brazilaanse choreograaf Guilherme Miotto.
