Tijdens ICAF 2026 presenteert het Catalaanse gezelschap BROTS hun krachtige voorstelling Eucaristia<\/em>. Het gezelschap bestaat uit ervaringsdeskundigen op het gebied van kwetsbare mentale gezondheid en mentale uitdagingen. Met gezang, kreten en spel brengen zij zelf hun verhalen op het podium, en houden het publiek een directe spiegel voor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eucaristia<\/em> onderzoekt hoe religieuze en conservatieve waarden nog steeds onzichtbaar doorwerken in de samenleving en hoe dit lijden kan veroorzaken. Dit project is een artistiek pleidooi voor geestelijke gezondheidszorg als een collectieve praktijk, in plaats van individuele therapie, en staat voor transformatie, solidariteit en een menselijkere benadering. Vanuit veertien jaar gezamenlijke artistieke praktijk delen de makers verhalen over bevrijding, onderlinge steun en activisme op het gebied van mentale gezondheid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brots is a theatre collective based at uTOpia Barcelona, formed by mental-health activists and people with lived experience of mental illness. The group uses the principles of Theatre of the Oppressed to create performances that question stigma, discrimination, and the dominant narratives around psychiatry and mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through collaborative creation and aesthetic exploration, CIA Brots turns personal experiences into powerful collective expressions. Their work gives voice to individuals who are often silenced, fostering empathy, dialogue, and social awareness.
