Hoe ziet \u2018zorg esthetica\u2019 er in de praktijk uit, oftewel hoe belichaam je zorg of zorgzaamheid, hoe ga je er met je zintuigen mee om, hoe geef je het op een theatrale manier vorm? En hoe ontwerp je workshops die zorgzaam zijn? Deze praktijksessie is een vervolg op de lezing die James op vrijdagochtend 30 maart verzorgde. In  deze workshop onderzoekt hij hoe je theaterspelletjes en oefeningen kunt aanpassen zodat ze inhoudelijk grondig met het zorgthema aan de slag gaan en ook zorgzaam zijn naar deelnemers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James introduceert zelf een aantal oefeningen, maar deze workshop is vooral experimenteel. James is namelijk de eerste om toe te geven dat hij de antwoorden op alle vragen niet bezit. Deze workshop leunt dus op samenwerking en de bereidheid tot exploreren. Deelnemers worden aangemoedigd zelf oefeningen mee te brengen en met elkaar te onderzoeken hoe ze aangepast kunnen worden om ze zorgzamer te maken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James Thompson <\/strong>is <\/strong>Professor in Applied Theatre aan de University of Manchester. He richtte daar In Place of War (<\/em>www.inplaceofwar.net<\/a>)<\/em> op, een belangrijk initiatief om kunstprojecten in conflictgebieden te onderzoeken en te ontwikkelen. Hij leidt nu een onderzoeksproject rond zorgesthetica. In de afgelopen decennia heeft hij over de hele wereld toegepaste theaterprojecten verzorgd en een aantal standaardboeken geschreven over dit werk.  Zijn bekendste publicaties zijn Performance Affects<\/em> (2009), Humanitarian Performance <\/em>(2014) en het samen met Amanda Stuart Fisher geredigeerde Performing Care <\/em>(2020). <\/em>Zijn nieuwste boek, Care Aesthetics: for Careful Art and Artful Care<\/em> kwam in 2022 uit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

James Thompson <\/strong>is hoogleraar toegepast en sociaal theater en associate vicepresident voor sociale verantwoordelijkheid aan de Universiteit van Manchester. Hij richtte het Theatre in Prisons and Probation Centre op in de jaren 1990 en is de oprichter en mededirecteur van In Place of War -<\/em> een project dat kunstprogramma's onderzoekt en ontwikkelt in oorlogs- en rampgebieden. Hij ontwikkelde en leidde theaterprojecten in Afrika en Zuid-Azi\u00eb (voornamelijk DR Congo en Sri Lanka). Hij heeft veel geschreven over theater toegepast op conflict, vredesopbouw en verzoening en zijn meest recente boeken zijn Performance Affects: Applied Theatre and the End of Effect<\/em> (2009) en Humanitarian Performance: from Disaster Tragedies to Spectacles of War <\/em>(2014).
