Summer School 2018

We're happy to announce that from 22 to 27 July 2018 ICAF organises its second Summer School! This time we take the event to Barcelona and team up with the local organisation ComuArt. The Summer School occurs under the umbrella of Grec 2018 Festival de Barcelona and is part of Obrador d'estiu of sala Béckett (Sala Beckett, C/Pere IV 228, 08005 Barcelona, Spain). It's a week of exciting encounters, hands-on experience and in-depth dialogue between colleagues from all over the world, all centred on the theme Changing Perspectives. It offers the opportunity for both experienced professionals and young artists to further develop their skills and to reflect on their work.

In three modules you get the opportunity to learn from inspiring facilitators from different corners of the world. In the module of Dr. Sheila Preston (University of East London, UK) experienced professionals get the chance to reflect on their work by taking it out of its context and translating and presenting it to others in the best possible way. Young artists and students get the opportunity to learn from inspiring artist-facilitators in the modules of Allison Orr and Krissie Marty (Forklift Danceworks, USA) and Jorge Vargas (Teatro Linea de Sombra, Mexico supported by Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes and Secretaría de Cultura). Pre-registration for the Summer School is now open! Below you can download the complete programme with all the information in English, Catalan and Spanish.
